Swimsuit shopping has never been one of my favorite outings - not even in the days before I had to reconcile my hot mama ideals with my postpartum realities. The suits that look great on a hanger generally become total fashion don'ts on me; but browsing the retro swimwear at Popina Swim is actually a pleasure for this third-time mom.
Several of this year's new styles are just as cute and flirty as the ones we featured last year, still mom-friendly without being matronly. I love the new halter styles, as well as the Anabel tankini in chic espresso, which flatters my postpartum decolletage. Plus I can confirm that nursing in it is a breeze.
What's particularly nice about the shop is that you can add soft cups into any top for a small charge and mix and match with various swimsuit bottoms to find the combo that's right for you.
Moms who can still rock the bikini, I salute you. But for me, the alternatives at Popina have earned my summer love. -Julie
