Just when I thought I'd seen every sort of soft soled baby bootie out there, I was introduced to Scooterbees. And being the obsessed but still picky shoe nut that I am, I fell instantly in love.
These truly eco-friendly baby booties are made in San Francisco of recycled fibers from soda and water bottles. The soles are completely water resistant and anti-slip, thanks to a cool, but extremely safe ThermoPlastic Elastomer material (just go with me on that) and the amazingly soft lining is made from bamboo.
But the best feature, you know, if I had to pick just one, is the unique crossover design of the uppers which features related images that act like story book pages. Cross them to the left and you get a flower, to the right you get a butterfly. (Check out the on-site demo if that seems confusing.)
Other "stories" are about vegetables, animals or geometric shapes. So every time you take the shoes on and off, you have a chance to tell a little story to your child. Or, soon enough, he'll be telling one to you. -Kristen
