I spend a lot of time thinking about what gifts to buy each person on my Christmas list. Some gifts may say, I know you love nice things, or You have a great sense of humor, and even Maybe next year you'll do a wish list so you don't get another one of these.
But I've now found the perfect one-size-fits-all gift with just enough personalization to make it special to each one receiving it. In fact I think this gift says, I like you enough to buy you chocolate.
Is there anything better?
This isn't any old chocolate: Chocri's make-your-own chocolate bar website is kind of like being let loose in Willy Wonka's factory and told to create whatever you want. It's all super easy---much like those make-your-own cereal sites we've recommended before---and takes less time than a trip to the store for mass-produced bars.
The yummy Belgium chocolate base comes in dark, milk and white chocolate, as well as a cool white/milk stacked version for those of you indecisive types. Speaking of indecision, good luck narrowing down your selection from the dozens of add-ons, from cinnamon to corn flakes to marzipan stars.
If you get stuck, take a look at their Recommended Creations. Their Anti-Hangover Chocolate Bar gets two sticky thumbs up from me with its ginger, banana chips, coffee and fleur de sel which I've now decided needs to be added to every chocolate bar forever and ever, amen. I also tried the Gary Vaynerchuk bar (you vino-seurs and Twitter junkies will recognize the name) which features real gold flakes which make for a "whoa" gift--though don't expect them to taste like much.
Don't expect the additions to be mixed into the chocolate; they sit on the top of the bar which actually makes for a prettier looking confection than one that is all lumpy bumpy. And no, they're not cheap with ready-made bars starting around $8. But each bar comes in a cardboard wrapper with a customizable label, meaning you need nothing more than a bow on top.
