On any given day, I might have to drop off a neighbor's kid at his piano teacher's house although he doesn't know her last name or the name of the street on which she lives, clip a finch's toenails, and negotiate with an international credit agency for an elderly relative -- I know you know what I'm talking about.

We moms are usually expected to just figure out how to do some wacky stuff all on our own.
And then I was handed Consider it Done: Accomplish 228 of Life's Trickiest Tasks. Written by Julie Subotky, a lifestyle manager and CEO of Consider It Done, a personal concierge company, it's a light-hearted, yet super practical book, with tips on how to do everything from make sure the airline doesn't lose your luggage to how to hire a snake dancer to how to miss that much-dreaded family reunion.

It's full of practical tips and advice, and there's even a useful (if not as outrageous) section for new moms. I am sorely tempted to buy this book in bulk and give it as a gift to everyone from my college-aged cousin to my mom friends. And though I don't see myself needing to send valerian overseas or bring an elephant into a public park any time soon, I'm glad I'm informed, should the needs arise.  - Barbara
