I am a terrible procrastinator when it comes to Easter basket ideas, always shopping for my kids' gifts a few days before the holiday and wishing I had planned ahead for once. But, this year, I've found a few special picks that you'll need to buy now if you want to have them in those baskets by Easter morning.

To start, you'll want to make sure you have a basket, and I love Good Wishes Quilts natural cotton baskets that are just the right size for a few small goodies or to tote around the Easter egg hunt. Personalize with your child's name or initial, and you'll have a keepsake for years to come. (7-10 days lead time needed; ships from Canada) I fell in love with Imagination Kids' gorgeous and eco-friendly Wooden Easter Eggs last year, but, alas, I was too late to order any of Erin's beautiful handmade Easter goodies. The sweet pastel eggs and bright rainbow eggs are so pretty, though I do love the realistic Heritage breed colors that could fool a henhouse.

Those with a bit of the crafty gene will have plenty of time to whip together one adorable little bunny using Shiny Happy World's Bunny Kit. Super cute for either boys or girls, the "Everything But The Scissors Bunny Kit" even includes thread, needles and stuffing. My kids would be thrilled to find this little guy hanging out in their basket on Easter morn.  (Edited to add: This particular product is no longer available; however, there are other bunny-related crafts on Shiny Happy World.)   Little bunnies can't really gnaw on carrots, so give them this sweet wooden egg teether from CMP favorite Little Alouette. Made from strong raw Ohio hardwood maple, this egg is totally safe for babies to stick in their mouths. Hey, there's still plenty of time for them to discover those cream-filled versions. (Edited to add: This particular product is currently unavailable. But you can email them to see if any are still in stock, if not on the site.)   The Personalized Lamb Doll at Baby Gardner would look mighty sweet on top of an Easter basket. I love the little overalls on this handcrafted plush toy, though it's the folded felt wool ears that make me swoon. (Requires two weeks' lead time) Edited to add: Baby Gardner has gone out of business.] For even more Easter basket ideas, take a look in our archives and keep an eye out for upcoming Easter-themed posts.
