There are so many ways to count down the days to Christmas, from beautiful artistic calendars, to fun DIY printables, to even 24 punk-rock tunes that'll have you oi-ing around the kitchen.

But if you want an advent calendar with loads and loads of "awwwwww"---and some eco goodwill tucked inside--look no further than these super-sweet diminutive stockings from this creative mama of four. And be sure to order soon in time for December 1!

Cheerful Things designer Alicia Todd takes the best wool from rescued sweaters and scarves and turns it into the most adorable little creations like this colorful and unique mini stocking ornament advent calendar.

The three different advent calendar collections currently in her Etsy store all have loads of colors, patterns, and details, and yet each set looks perfect together. I love how no two of the 5" stockings are the same, especially after she adds a few buttons or flower decoration to give each one its own "pop." As cute as an entire series would look decorating a Christmas tree, I especially like them all in a row with the supplied numbered wooden clothespins to make them easier to hang from a line across the mantel or on the wall then tuck in a little treat. Or bring them out one day at a time if your kids can't keep their hands off!

Along with her big batch of advent stockings, Alicia Todd also has lots of felted reclaimed wool ornaments that would make a great gift for a tree-trimming party, or grab a series of three mini stockings for a special hostess gift.

Who knows? Maybe some of the wool she's reusing even comes from the Island of Misfit Christmas Sweaters that now get their chance to be front and center for the holidays, and not shoved into the back of a closet or laughed at during the office Christmas party. -Christina

The limited advent calendars have already sold out, but check out the colorful reclaimed wool ornaments from Cheerful Things.
