I've been deeply committed to supporting FashionABLE since visiting them in Ethiopia on a humanitarian trip with ONE nearly two years ago. It's named the Teshome, for the artist who made them, and each tag contains a handwritten note from her: Because of your purchase, I am able to support my little sisters. Oof. The rugged leather style coupled with the pops of colorful thread make them so fantastic for stacking especially at $24 each. In fact, you can get two for just $40 or save $20 if you buy four which is another great excuse to look good while doing some good. These are real women. I've met them. I can picture their faces, their hands on the looms, their smiles. I can still hear their voices recounting their stories. While I have yet to meet Teshome, for me, this is still very personal.
