11 of the coolest 2015 calendars you won't mind looking at for a year

Is it overkill to hang a different calendar in every room of your house? Because there are so many gorgeous 2015 calendars that I'm struggling to choose just one. Here are 11 of the coolest calendars for next year, ranging from wall calendars to desk calendars to calendars you can use as gift wrap. I say let's just give ourselves permission to buy as many as we'd like and simply call them pieces of art. They're all so pretty! Above is Kristina Krogh Studio's 2015 wall calendar, which combines two of my favorite design elements: black typography and gold foil. Simple yet stunning, it would look fantastic framed in a living room. Like my living room. ($75) We're longtime fans of Marisa Anne Cummings from Creative Thursday and thrilled she's once again collected some of her most adorable illustrations in a limited edition 2015 calendar. This year's calendar is larger (8.5" x 11") and more eco-friendly (each page is printed front and back) but still perfect for a kid's room or playroom. ($35) I collected gemstones as a kid, which may be why I'm so drawn to this 2015 birthstone calendar from Squirrelly Minds Paper. Each month features an original watercolor that's been digitally printed on thick white card stock. Hang it from its suede strap above your workspace or order it without a hole to sit on your desk. ($24.12) Looking for something a bit out of this world? Constellation animals adorn the black and white pages of 45wall's 2015 calendar, which hangs from the wall on a metal bulldog clip. I love that it has mid-century modern appeal without screaming retro. ($18) How could I not be obsessed with Julia Kostreva's 2015 prisms calendar? It has all my favorite things: gold foil, gemstones and letterpress. Each calendar is hand-printed onto beautifully textured recycled paper with blank lines at the bottom to note important dates. ($33) Full disclosure: My Michelle Armas calendar from 2013 is now framed because it was too pretty to toss -- and no, I'm not a hoarder. This year's 2015 wall calendar, a 13" x 19" watercolor print in a muted color palette, is just as gorgeous and frame-worthy. ($35) Marieken Hensen's 2105 illustrated calendar is a beautiful ode to the architecture of New York City. Printed on 6" x 8" biscuit-colored paper, the screen-printed calendar highlights some of the city's most famous buildings, including the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, and Radio City Music Hall. ($31.27) You know those diamond-shaped yarn weavings that kids make with sticks called "God's Eyes"? I totally see those in the geometric design of this Michelle Brusegaard 2015 wall calendar, which is printed on matte paper with a thick white border. Frame it or simply tack it above your desk for an edgier look. ($20) Falling under the category of "Why didn't I think of that?" is Linda & Harriett's 2015 gift wrap calendar. At the end of each month, tear off the black and white patterned sheet at the perforation and use the 18" x 24" paper to wrap a present. Clever, right? ($49) I don't usually think of hand lettering as minimalist, but this 2015 calligraphy calendar by Jasmine Dowling is so understated it doesn't even include the names of the months. Instead, each month is identified by a number: 01, 02, and so on. The calendar also comes with a free "And So The Adventure Begins Print" that you can easily remove to hang separately. ($45) Rifle Paper Co., another yearly favorite, is back with a 2015 wall calendar that'll make armchair -- actually, office chair -- travelers out of us all. Inspired by vintage travel posters from around the world, each month depicts a different destination like Paris, Havana, and Bali illustrated in Anna Bond's signature hand-painted style.
