Where do you go for design inspiration now that the Pinterest feed changes have totally screwed up your experience? If you're looking for paint inspiration to freshen up your home decor, you need to visit the blog of Colorhouse Paint, a brand that's a favorite of designers, architects, and eco-conscious parents for its odor-free, low-VOC paint colors, its eco-friendly manufacturing processes, and even a paint recycling program. I went to the blog to look for some home decor inspiration, then fell down the rabbit hole with so many DIYs and color trend blog posts that I immediately wanted to pin to my boards. What can I say, old habits die hard.

A Painted Puzzle Wall
One of the coolest ideas on their blog is the Painted Puzzle Wall technique, which uses two complementary colors from their new spring collection of paints to act as a visual room divider. Creamy grey and soft orange are such an unexpected (if somewhat 80's) duo, and I love how the jagged line delineates between the his-and-her sides of the room.
A painted chalkboard circle
Cute and practical is how I'd describe this toddler-height chalkboard circle. Besides, it's not like little kids can reach the top half of an entire wall covered in chalkboard paint. There's a great tip for drawing the perfect freehand circle on the blog, and Colorhouse even offers ten harmonious hues of chalkboard paint to match your kid's bedroom or play area. Just know that you will get chalk dust underneath, so consider what kind of rug or flooring you have down there. (A mat you can shake off works well too.)

I love everything about this photo, from the geometric wall pattern to Eames-style chair to that amazing planter. It's basically a design blogger's dream desk. (Should we all be able to live without laptops or wires of any sort.) I don't think I'd be able to come up with the non-traditional color combination of those painted triangles on my own, but now I want to design an entire room in robin's egg blue, peach, mustard yellow, and coral.

With three shades of grey (not 50), this project is more complicated than a simple chalkboard circle, but it looks like such a fun way to get organized. If that yellow accent color doesn't work in your space, you can always change it, although I'd recommend staying away from white. It's fun getting a little crazy with color.
