WOMEN MARCH! The upcoming 500 piece puzzle from eeboo commemorating the voices, strength, and ability of women to effect positive change
I've always loved the artful, fun kids' toys and gifts from eeBoo, and now I've got one more reason to love them: The 500 piece Women March! puzzle that's coming out in spring of this year. Prolific illustrator Jennifer Orkin Lewis (you may know her as August Wren) created this gorgeous representation of the diverse group of women -- and men! -- who participated in the historically large and impactful march on DC in 2017.

I just love how positive the imagery is, which really mirrors the vibe I got from marching in DC with my own family in 2017. I also love how diverse the crowd is (including all those awesome male allies), and above all, I appreciate the array of protest signs represented here. While I've seen similar artwork targeted to kids and families that water down the messages to generic signs like "love is all you need" and "girls rock," in this illustration, Lewis didn't hold back from depicting the real political issues being amplified at the Women's March, from LGBTQ+ equality, to reproductive choice, immigration and Dreamers, attacks on science and facts, and Black Lives Matter. It's wrapped in a wonderful quote spoken that day by Gloria Steinem. But the real anchor imagery of the puzzle a banner above the US Capitol building, bearing those exquisite and groundbreaking words spoken by Hillary Rodham Clinton in Beijing in 1995: Women's Rights are Human Rights.
