Browsing Target this morning, I was surprised to come across these Morgan Harper Nichols designed hair scrunchies. In fact, I did a double-take to be sure it was the MHN referenced on the packaging.
Considering I know Morgan from her wildly popular Instagram feed -- which I share all the time -- somehow I missed the announcement!
So maybe I'm late to the accessory party, but there's an entire collection of Goody x MHN hair accessories from the Atlanta mixed-media artist, poet, and author, who writes so beautifully and authentically about using art as a way to transcend her ADHD and autism and create meaningful connections. Her distinctive colors and organic style translate perfectly in the collection.
You'll see her love of natural colors and forms in the collection of headbands, turbans, clips and bands. And I think they're great for summer, or would make awesome little gifts -- maybe even for a summer camp care package.
As Morgan wrote on Instagram: I love being able to create art that can be a part of other things. As an autistic artist the process of creating this product line has special meaning to me, because for me making art is a safe space to communicate in my own unique way — and seeing how that can then be something other people can connect with too brings so much joy!
