At a Glance

This summary is for convenience. The full Policy below provides more detail.

  • Cool Mom Picks is an editorial publisher, not the retailer that completes a purchase through a product link. We generally do not receive your payment-card, shipping, or retailer order information.
  • The current public site does not offer reader accounts or public member profiles.
  • The newsletter form collects an email address and sends it to Mailchimp in pending status so a new subscriber can confirm.
  • We use identifier-free, first-party event counts by default. More detailed first-party analytics uses browser identifiers only after opt-in and remains off when Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is active.
  • We do not use Google Analytics 4 in the current implementation described by this Policy.
  • AI-assisted features use a Replit/OpenAI integration. We have not verified contractual no-training terms or a fixed deletion period, so do not enter sensitive or identifying information.
  • Affiliate links, advertising, and third-party destinations may disclose online activity to other companies. The current site does not promise that declining detailed first-party analytics removes affiliate tracking from links.
  • You may have privacy rights depending on where you live. Requests may be sent to info@coolmompicks.com.

1. Who We Are and Scope

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Cool Mom Picks International Holdings LLC, a California limited liability company (“Cool Mom Picks,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles personal information through the current Cool Mom Picks website at coolmompicks.com and Cool Mom Picks email newsletters that link to this Policy (together, the “Services”).

This Policy does not claim to cover separately operated properties, retired products, partner-branded services, or services that do not link to it. It also does not govern a retailer, advertiser, social platform, or other third party you visit from a link on the Services.

Our current public site has no reader registration, reader login, or public member profile. Separate staff-only authentication may use an email verification code; staff access does not create a reader account.

We are based in the United States. Contact details are in Section 20.

2. Notice at Collection

The following table summarizes categories we collect through the current Services. “Sold” and “shared” are legal terms under some U.S. state privacy laws and may include certain disclosures for cross-context behavioral advertising even when no money is paid for the information. Whether a particular disclosure is legally a sale or sharing depends on applicable law and the actual configuration.

We do not offer a discount or similar financial incentive in exchange for personal information through the current newsletter form.

3. Information You Provide

3.1 Newsletter signup

The current newsletter form asks for an email address and affirmative newsletter consent. It does not require a reader account, name, age attestation, arbitration checkbox, or general Terms-acceptance ledger. The signup request also contains a hidden anti-bot field.

When a valid request is made, the site sends the email address to Mailchimp with status_if_new set to pending. This is designed to start confirmation for a new address rather than silently resubscribe an existing unsubscribed, cleaned, or archived contact.

3.2 Messages and requests

If you email us or use the contact page, we receive the address, message, and other information you provide. Sending a message does not subscribe you to a newsletter. If you make a privacy request, we collect information reasonably needed to understand, verify, and answer it.

3.3 AI-assisted features

If an AI-assisted search or recommendation feature is available and you use it, we receive the selections and text you submit. Do not provide names, email addresses, account credentials, precise location, photos, government identifiers, payment information, health information, information about a child that identifies the child, or other sensitive or confidential information.

4. Information Collected Automatically

When your browser requests a page or calls our systems, ordinary web infrastructure processes an IP address, user-agent and browser information, requested URL, timestamps, and related request and security data. We use this information to deliver pages, route requests, maintain availability, rate-limit forms, and detect abuse.

Public analytics exclude admin, authentication, and API paths from normalized reader-page reporting. The implementation also removes query strings and fragments from analytics paths and rejects paths that appear to contain email addresses, UUIDs, or long private hashes.

4.1 Basic first-party counts

By default, the site sends a sanitized first-party event without a persistent visitor or session identifier. The event may include an event ID used for bounded retry deduplication, event type, normalized page path, device category, a limited referring hostname, and a site surface such as home, search, or article. These events are stored as identifier-free aggregate counters rather than detailed per-reader history.

4.2 Optional detailed first-party analytics

If you opt in to detailed analytics and no DNT or GPC signal is active, the site may create a random visitor identifier in local storage and a random session identifier in session storage. The session identifier expires after inactivity in the browser implementation. Detailed events help estimate repeat use, sessions, and recommendation interactions.

If you decline, the site clears those analytics identifiers. If your browser sends DNT or GPC, detailed analytics remains off and the identifiers are cleared even if an earlier choice allowed it. The analytics preference itself is stored in a first-party cookie so the site can remember your choice.

Basic identifier-free event counts continue when detailed analytics is off. The current first-party implementation does not use Google Analytics 4.

5. Information from Others

  • Mailchimp provides newsletter status, delivery information, and—depending on campaign settings—engagement information such as opens or link clicks.
  • Affiliate networks and retailers may provide click, attribution, commission, or aggregate performance information. We generally do not receive the retailer’s payment-card number, shipping address, or complete customer order record.
  • Advertising and sponsorship providers may provide campaign and performance information where advertising or sponsored placements are used.
  • Social platforms may provide information when you interact with our pages or accounts under their settings and policies.

6. AI-Assisted Search and Recommendations

6.1 Automated interaction

An AI-assisted feature is software, not a person. Its output may be inaccurate or unsuitable and may contain product recommendations or affiliate links. It is not used by the current reader-facing Services to make decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance, health care, education, or other decisions with similarly significant legal effects.

6.2 Processing

The current implementation uses a Replit-provided OpenAI integration and an OpenAI-compatible client. A prompt and necessary context may be transmitted through Replit’s integration to OpenAI or the configured OpenAI-compatible service to generate a response. Related feature data may also be processed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and evaluate the feature.

Unresolved vendor terms: Cool Mom Picks has not verified an executed vendor agreement that guarantees no model training, a particular abuse-monitoring configuration, or a fixed deletion period for these requests. This Policy therefore makes no no-training or timed-deletion promise. The vendor chain, contractual roles, training terms, and retention have not been independently verified by Cool Mom Picks.

6.3 Minimization

Please use general descriptions, such as an approximate age range and interests, instead of identifying a person. We do not need sensitive information to make editorial, gift, or product recommendations.

7. Newsletters and Mailchimp

7.1 Confirmation and delivery

Mailchimp processes the email address to administer confirmation, list status, delivery, unsubscribe, suppression, and related newsletter operations. A new signup is requested in pending status and may not receive newsletters until confirmation is completed. An existing contact’s status is not silently changed by that new-signup request.

7.2 Newsletter content and measurement

Messages may include editorial content, affiliate links, product recommendations, deals, and disclosed sponsored material. Mailchimp may process delivery events, bounces, opens, and clicks depending on message and account settings. We use available information to deliver messages, understand performance, prevent abuse, and improve newsletter content.

7.3 Unsubscribe

Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact info@coolmompicks.com. Mailchimp or we may retain a suppression record after an unsubscribe so the address is not inadvertently re-added or emailed in violation of the preference or law.

We do not disclose an email address to a sponsor for the sponsor’s independent marketing merely because sponsored content appears in our newsletter. We may disclose contact information if you separately direct us to do so or as otherwise described in this Policy.

8. Advertising, Sponsorships, and Affiliate Links

8.1 Advertising

The site may contain advertising delivered or measured through third-party advertising technology, including the currently integrated Ezoic advertising stack where it is enabled. Advertising providers may process online identifiers, browser and device information, approximate location derived from IP address, page activity, consent signals, and ad interactions under their own terms and privacy disclosures. The exact production vendor and configuration inventory has not been independently verified by Cool Mom Picks.

8.2 Sponsored placements

We may measure views and clicks on labeled sponsored placements. A sponsor may receive campaign-level or aggregate reporting and, when you follow the sponsor’s link, the destination receives the ordinary information associated with that visit.

8.3 Affiliate links

Many product links may contain an affiliate code, campaign value, or tracking redirect. When you click, an affiliate network, link provider, or retailer may learn that the visit came from Cool Mom Picks and may set or read its own cookies or identifiers. That processing supports attribution of a commission if a qualifying transaction occurs.

Current limitation: Declining optional detailed first-party analytics, sending DNT/GPC, or clearing our first-party analytics identifiers does not necessarily remove affiliate codes or stop a retailer or affiliate participant from processing information after you click. Cool Mom Picks has not verified link-rewriting or opt-out behavior that would support a contrary promise.

9. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies

Technology Current purpose Choice Analytics preference cookie Remembers whether detailed first-party analytics was accepted or declined Controlled through the site’s “Your privacy choices” analytics control; the current implementation sets a one-year maximum age Detailed analytics visitor ID Random browser identifier in local storage for consented first-party analytics Created only after opt-in and cleared on decline or detected DNT/GPC Detailed analytics session ID Random session identifier in session storage for consented first-party analytics Created only after opt-in and cleared on decline or detected DNT/GPC Necessary and preference technologies Security, request routing, feature operation, interface preferences, and consent handling Some are necessary for requested functionality; browser controls may affect operation Advertising, affiliate, and embedded third-party technologies Ad delivery and measurement, commission attribution, or third-party media Controls and legal treatment vary by provider, location, configuration, and destination

9.1 DNT and Global Privacy Control

The first-party analytics implementation treats either browser Do Not Track set to “1” or Global Privacy Control set to true as a direction to keep detailed analytics off and clear its visitor and session identifiers. This signal handling does not by itself guarantee that affiliate tracking is removed or that every independent third party will respond in the same way.

10. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  1. provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services;
  2. process newsletter signup, confirmation, delivery, engagement, unsubscribe, and suppression;
  3. provide search, recommendations, and AI-assisted features;
  4. measure traffic and interactions through basic aggregate counts and, with opt-in, detailed first-party analytics;
  5. provide, select, and measure advertising and sponsored placements where present;
  6. route affiliate links and attribute commissions;
  7. answer messages, tips, pitches, support inquiries, and privacy requests;
  8. prevent spam, fraud, scraping, attacks, and other misuse;
  9. honor and document choices; and
  10. comply with law, enforce our Terms, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

11. How We Disclose Information

11.1 Service and infrastructure providers

We disclose information to providers that help us operate the Services. Current or relevant categories include:

Provider or category Function and information Intuit Mailchimp Newsletter confirmation, list management, delivery, suppression, and engagement data; email address and newsletter activity Replit Application hosting, infrastructure, storage, and AI integration; request, technical, operational, and AI interaction data as needed for those functions OpenAI or configured OpenAI-compatible service AI generation through the Replit integration; prompt, context, and generated output Ezoic and advertising participants Advertising delivery, consent integration, and measurement where enabled; online identifiers and activity Operational and professional providers Security, communications, legal, accounting, and technical support; information reasonably necessary for the service

We do not state that every provider is bound by a particular data-processing addendum, no-training covenant, security certification, or deletion schedule unless and until the relevant agreement and configuration are verified.

11.2 Independent third parties

Advertisers, affiliate networks, retailers, embedded-content hosts, and social platforms may process information for their own purposes when their technology is enabled or when you choose to interact with or visit them. Their policies, not this Policy, govern their independent processing.

11.3 Legal, safety, and corporate events

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, property, readers, the public, or the Services. Information may also be reviewed by professional advisors or transferred in a merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to applicable law.

11.4 At your direction; aggregate information

We may disclose information at your direction or with your consent. We may also use and disclose aggregate or de-identified information that is not reasonably linkable to an individual, and we do not intend to re-identify it except to test whether de-identification is effective or as permitted by law.

12. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell newsletter email addresses for money. However, some U.S. state laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly. Disclosures of online identifiers and browsing or ad-interaction data to advertising participants for cross-context behavioral advertising may be a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law. Affiliate attribution may also require legal review based on the parties, technology, and state law.

The categories potentially involved are online identifiers, device information, approximate location derived from IP address, and internet or network activity. Potential recipients include advertising technology participants and, depending on implementation and law, affiliate participants.

The current implementation has a control for optional detailed first-party analytics, and detailed analytics honors DNT/GPC as described above. This Policy does not claim that the site currently offers a comprehensive, verified opt-out that strips all advertising or affiliate tracking. Cool Mom Picks has not verified a comprehensive sale, sharing, or targeted-advertising opt-out beyond the controls described here. You may contact us using the details below to make a privacy request.

13. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the requested service, maintaining appropriate records, honoring choices, protecting the Services, resolving disputes, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations. We then delete or de-identify information when reasonably practicable.

Information Purpose-based approach Newsletter address and status While subscribed or otherwise needed to administer the list; suppression information may remain as needed to honor an unsubscribe and comply with law Pending signup As maintained by Mailchimp for confirmation and list administration under the configured account and provider practices; no Cool Mom Picks fixed deletion period is promised in this Policy Basic aggregate analytics Aggregate counters may be retained for historical reporting without persistent reader identifiers Detailed first-party analytics For product and editorial measurement until no longer reasonably needed; browser identifiers are cleared locally when the user declines or DNT/GPC is detected AI inputs and outputs For generation, operation, security, debugging, and improvement as reasonably needed; provider retention and a deletion period remain unverified Correspondence and privacy requests For as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, demonstrate compliance, and address disputes Security and request logs For operational security, abuse prevention, incident response, and legal needs

Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove copies from backups, logs, legal holds, or systems controlled by independent third parties. No specific backup-overwrite deadline is promised in this Policy.

14. Security

We use measures intended to reduce risks to information and limit processing to what is reasonably needed for the Services. No website, network transmission, provider, or storage system is completely secure. We do not guarantee absolute security, encryption for every field in every system, a particular certification, or an audit-logging capability not verified in the current implementation.

Use care when deciding what to submit. If you believe information you provided through the Services is at risk, contact info@coolmompicks.com.

15. Privacy Rights and Choices

15.1 Rights that may apply

Depending on where you live, the nature of the information, and whether an applicable law covers Cool Mom Picks, you may have rights to:

  • know or access personal information we hold about you;
  • receive a portable copy of certain information;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • delete certain information;
  • opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling;
  • limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;
  • obtain information about categories or, where required, specific third parties that received information;
  • appeal a refusal of a request; and
  • exercise rights without unlawful discrimination.

These rights are subject to definitions, thresholds, exceptions, verification, and other limits in applicable law. Listing a right does not concede that a particular law applies to Cool Mom Picks or to every request.

15.2 How to submit a request

Email info@coolmompicks.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line, use the contact page, or write to the mailing address in Section 20. Describe the right you want to exercise and the information or Service involved.

15.3 Verification

We may verify a request by sending a confirmation or verification code to an email address associated with the relevant record and by asking for limited information we already hold. We do not require a reader account. We will not ask for more information than reasonably necessary, and we may deny or limit a request if we cannot verify it or an exception applies.

15.4 Authorized agents and appeals

Where applicable law permits an authorized agent, we may ask for proof of authority and may confirm the request directly with you unless the law provides otherwise. To appeal a decision where an appeal right applies, reply to our response or email us with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line.

15.5 Response timing

We will acknowledge and respond within the period required by applicable law and will explain any permitted extension. This Policy does not promise a shorter universal deadline.

16. State-Specific Information

California. Section 2 describes categories collected, sources, purposes, disclosures, and retention approach. Sections 11 and 12 describe recipient categories and potential sale or sharing. California residents may request the rights available under applicable California law using Section 15.

California direct marketing. We do not disclose newsletter email addresses to third parties for their own direct marketing merely because you subscribe. California residents may ask about applicable Civil Code section 1798.83 practices using Section 15.

Nevada. Nevada residents may submit a request concerning a “sale” as defined by Nevada law using Section 15. The broader disclosures described in Section 12 do not necessarily constitute a Nevada-law sale.

Other U.S. states. Residents of states with applicable comprehensive privacy laws may submit requests using Section 15. We will evaluate each request under the law that applies to the requester, the information, and Cool Mom Picks.

17. Children

The Services are directed to a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13 in a manner covered by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

The current newsletter form does not include an age attestation. If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information to us, contact info@coolmompicks.com with “Child Privacy” in the subject line and enough information to locate the record. We will investigate and take action required by applicable law.

When seeking a recommendation for a child, do not provide the child’s name, photo, contact information, precise location, health information, or other identifying details. An approximate age range and general interests are sufficient.

18. Sensitive Information and Health-Related Reading

We do not ask readers to submit government identifiers, financial-account credentials, precise geolocation, biometric information, or health information through the newsletter form or AI-assisted recommendation features. Please do not provide such information in a prompt, email, or general contact message unless it is necessary for a request and you understand the risk.

Cool Mom Picks may publish articles touching on health, pregnancy, feeding, allergies, or child safety. The current site does not implement a verified separate health-data consent gate or guaranteed removal of analytics and affiliate tracking from health-related pages. Reading an article may therefore generate the same basic first-party counts and third-party interactions described elsewhere in this Policy. This Policy does not claim a separate consumer-health-data program that has not been implemented.

19. Changes to This Policy

The effective date is shown above. For a later material change, we intend to provide at least 30 days’ advance notice through a reasonably prominent site notice and, when appropriate and operationally available, an email to subscribers. If applicable law requires consent for a new use of information already collected, we will seek that consent.
